I was called from a mobile saying I was eligible for a PPI refund based on a claim I had made a few years ago - sounded plausible - @ £3,000. Said it was to be paid electronically by setting up an online wallet. They used AnyDesk app as a means to talk me through the set up process to create a wallet on Challengelly. They told me this was going to be my wallet address. At some point, to set up either Challengelly or Moonpay, I was asked to, and I did, photograph my driving licence and take a selfie. Then Moonpay was used to take"verification" payments. The payments were taken from my bank card, the details of which are stored on my iPhone (which was another question they asked me earlier - what make/model phone I had). The phone pre-populated my card details, I only had to enter the 3 digit security number. When they said this had to be done 3 times I was getting more suspicious, especially as the size of the first 2 payments was £161 and £323. I checked the wallet address by clicking on the link in the emails from Moonpay, it's then I noticed that the wallet they said was mine, actually had over 500 transactions on it. That's when I knew I had been conned.
