Description of fraud
Platform and method: Fraudsters used the social network Telegram to promote the sale of medication and drugs through cryptocurrencies, specifically Bitcoin. The account used is '@Painkillers_pilll' with a link to 't.me/ADHDMEDS_ELVANSE_VYVANSE' and has 2066 subscribers.
Payment requested: Payment was requested via cryptocurrency to '1EPWL7x9TyUQcsb58UXfBtaUyHFdAzksa2'. This address was used to receive payments from the victims.
Delivery and communication: the fraudsters pretended that the parcel was on its way from the UK to the Czech Republic. False details of the sender (Tommy Rose, Scotland) and the recipient (Ond?ej ****, Prague) were used. Communication was made via email from the address 'priorityshipmentsgloballine@gmail.com', where victims were asked for further payments to cover insurance and other charges.
Fake tracking of the shipment: The victim was provided with a fake tracking number (GL0869**) and a link to a fake website 'globallinepriorityshipment.com' which was supposed to simulate tracking of the shipment.
Additional fees: Victims were subsequently asked for additional payments, such as a $100 deposit for shipping insurance, with the promise that these fees would be refunded upon delivery.
