HALO’s HUMINT investigators identified
a Telegram group, t.me/Genesisvolatility, which
was created on 28 July 2019 and maintains 915
subscribers. The channel claims to have been
created to provide free cryptocurrency trading
signals. The channel directs members to two
defunct Telegram accounts, @Mrpeason and
@pird1, to pay for VIP services, which would
provide additional trading signals. As of October
2021, the account was directing members to
contact separate Telegram user, @Genesisvolatility.
The activity detected was a scam in which investors
were offered guaranteed returns. Investigators
identified two BTC wallets which are being used in
this scam. These wallets have been reported as
involved in scam activity on Bitcoinwhoswho.com.
