As of mid-August 2021, HALO’s HUMINT team
identified a Genesis Trading imposter group on
Telegram, “Genesis Market” (T.me/genesismatket) (sic).
The group had 172,629 subscribers and purported to sell
drugs, weapons, counterfeit currency, stolen credit cards,
passports, and other types of fraudulent identification.
The group admin was “Travis OG” (@Genisadmin). Travis
claimed that he worked with the branch of Genesis
Trading on Telegram. He offered an investment
opportunity in which a $1000 investment would result in a
$10,500 return in 72 hours. There was no website
available with this scam as it was, “under maintenance.”
Travis provided two separate wallets for use in depositing
BTC: 1MRScTQtUr7WeUQTEEGcWRj3B9eQtE6KQB and
3AtVfd5ghmpqzT1q5tga4wGzSyNMzNpkuN. Travis
claimed the first wallet was an Atomic Wallet and the
second one was from Coinbase.
