Other scams and suspicious activities (some of the most common ones) that you should be aware of in the future include:

Fake websites
The scammer would put up a website very identical to famous or commonly used platforms.
The website name would look almost the same as the real website, but with minor changes. (For example, a scam website called myehterwallet.co that impersonates myetherwallet.com)
They would usually impersonate websites that offer wallet or exchange services.
When an unaware user logs in to these fake websites, the scammer would then get the user's login details for the real website and would use that to log in to the user's wallet and wipe clean the user's address.
Remember to always double-check the URL of the website that you are on!
Bookmark the website that you usually frequent (and don't follow external links)

Token giveaway
This is one of the most common ones where the perpetrator would (usually) say that the Ethereum Foundation or Vitalik Buterin is organizing a free ETH giveaway.
The 'giveaway' process would require the user to deposit a certain amount of assets and in return, will get an even bigger amount of the sent asset in return.
Kindly take note that the Ethereum Foundation, Vitalik Buterin or any other entities within the ecosystem would never organize such an 'event'.
Remember to always perform thorough research on an 'event', project or platform and the people behind it.
