Set up account with Bitstamp. I was provided this BTC address by their secure website and transferred BTC from coinbase to this address. The BTC funds were available in my bitstamp account and I purchased XRP using bitstamp. Then suddenly my bitstamp account became inaccessible "while my identification was being verified." It took months for verification and once approved my account balances were zero! When I opened a support ticket I was told this BTC address is invalid because "bitstamp BTC accounts all start with '3'." This makes absolutely no sense since a. my BTC deposit was visible in my bitstamp account, b. I then was able to purchase XRP using BTC in my bitstamp account. This is obviously a scam from within bitstamp!!
